Box Office: Veere Di Wedding becomes the 7th highest grosser of 2018

It has been a week since the release of the Shashanka Ghosh directed film Veere Di Wedding. Starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania the female buddy film has been well received by the audience.

 

Box Office: Veere Di Wedding becomes the 7th highest grosser of 2018

 

In this box office report we take a look at the collections of Veere Di Wedding till date while comparing the same to previous releases of 2018. Collecting Rs. 59.96 cr in its first week running Veere Di Wedding has become the seventh highest grosser of 2018 managing to surpass the lifetime collections of previous releases like 102 Not Out that collected Rs. 51.43 cr, Hichki that collected Rs. 46.21 cr, and October that collected Rs. 39.06 cr. If that wasn’t all, the business of Veere Di Wedding has also managed to out beat the recently released John Abraham – Diana Penty film Parmanu – The Story of Pokhran that had collected Rs. 51.83 cr.

 

However, previous releases like Padmaavat that collected Rs. 302.15 cr, Baaghi 2 that collected Rs. 164.38 cr, Raazi that collected Rs. 117.34 cr, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety that collected Rs. 108.95 cr, Raid that collected Rs. 103.07 cr, and Pad Man that collected Rs. 81.82 cr continue to retain the top six positions on the list. But given the fact that Veere Di Wedding still continues to run in theatres and faces no competition from newer Bollywood releases, expectation are that the business of the film will likely close the gap in the coming days.
