Box Office: Sridevi’s Mom collects Rs. 2.20 cr in overseas on Day 1

 

The Ravi Udyawar directed thriller Mom starring Sridevi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Akshaye Khanna released yesterday. The film which hit a total of 1806 screens worldwide (domestic 1350 + overseas 456) opened on a good note with positive reviews from critics.Box Office: Sridevi’s Mom collects Rs. 2.20 cr in overseas on Day 1

 

Despite the rather dark theme of the film Mom seems to have found acceptance among the audience as well. In fact, in the overseas markets though Mom released on just 456 screens the film has managed to collect $ 340,000 [₹ 2.20 cr]. Interesting the overseas collections of Mom are marginally lower than the domestic collections on day one that are pegged at Rs. 2.90 Cr despite the fact that the film hit 1350 screens across India in multiple languages.

 

Going by the current trend though the film has opening on an average note, the business of Mom is expected to witness growth as the weekend progresses.
