Box Office: Sanju becomes Ranbir Kapoor's highest opening day grosser till date
The Ranbir Kapoor starrer Sanju finally hit screens yesterday after much hype. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the film which is a biopic of actor Sanjay Dutt has opened on a high note with audiences thronging to theatres. Released across 4000 screens in India, Sanju has managed to live up to audience expectations while at the same time garnering positive reviews from critics.
In this box office analysis, we take a look at the opening day collections of Sanju while comparing the same to Ranbir Kapoor’s previous releases. Collecting a massive Rs. 34.75 cr on its opening day, Sanju has managed to surpass the collections of Ranbir’s previous releases Besharam that had collections of Rs. 21.56 cr to become the actor’s highest opening day grosser. If that wasn’t all, the first day collections of Sanju have also surpassed Ranbir Kapoor’s other releases like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani that collected Rs. 19.45 cr, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil that collected Rs. 13.3 cr, Tamasha that collected Rs. 10.94 cr, Rockstar that collected Rs. 10.60 cr, Rajneeti that collected Rs. 10.50 cr, Roy that collected Rs. 10.4 cr, Barfi that collected Rs. 9.20 cr, and Jagga Jasoos that collected Rs. 8.57 cr.
As of now with no competition from previous or new releases, Sanju that enjoys a clear run at the box office is expected to emerge as Ranbir Kapoor’s highest grossing film as well.
