Box Office: PK becomes Aamir Khan's second highest Opening Weekend grosser

 

Extensive promotions and rave reviews have obviously contributed to the stunning response that PK has garnered over the weekend. In fact, the Aamir Khan-Anushka Sharma starrer surely has become one of the record breaking movies of the year.

Box Office: PK becomes Aamir Khan's second highest Opening Weekend grosser

 

In this Box Office report, we compare the weekend collections of PK with the previous releases of Aamir Khan, Anushka Sharma and filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani. As far as the box office collections of Aamir Khan's films are concerned, PK takes the second position by collecting a total of Rs. 95.41 crores in the first weekend. However, PK has failed to beat the records created by Aamir Khan's previous film Dhoom 3 which collected Rs. 107.61 crores over the weekend. On the other hand, PK has left behind some of the most popular films of Aamir Khan which includes Talaash with a collection of Rs. 47.10 crores and 3 Idiots that collected Rs. 40.65 crores.

 

For Anushka Sharma, PK becomes the highest Opening Weekend grosser, beating her earlier films like the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jab Tak Hai Jaan that collected Rs. 80.73 crores and Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola which collected Rs. 22.42 crores.

 

Similarly, PK has also left behind Rajkumar Hirani's previous directorial 3 Idiots.
