Box Office: Padmaavat becomes the 10th highest All Time overseas grosser
The Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed film Padmaavat released worldwide on January 25. Starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor the film has been seeing good growth in collections since its release. Now after little over a week’s run Padmaavat has managed to make it into the top 10 highest overseas grosser of all time.
Collecting a massive USD 20.50 million, Padmaavat out beats the collections of the Salman Khan starrer Tiger Zinda Hai that had collected USD 20.21 million to claim the tenth spot among the Top 10 highest overseas grosser of all time. However, the collections of the film in the overseas markets are yet to surpass the business of previous releases like Dangal that had collected USD 230.08 million, Secret Superstar that collected USD 97.75 million, PK that collected USD 47.2 million, Dhoom 3 that collected USD 31.1 million, Bajrangi Bhaijaan that collected USD 29 million, Dilwale that collected USD 25.6 million, 3 Idiots that collected USD 25.5 million, Sultan that collected USD 24.38 million, and My Name is Khan that collected USD 23.5 million.
However, given the fact that Padmaavat still continues to run in theatres facing little to no competition the business of the film is expected to increase. Now all that remains to be seen is whether the collections of the film manage to cross the collections of other releases on the list.
