Box Office: Nayyi Navelli takes a slow start; Yami Gautam starrer opens at Rs. 3.25 crore on Friday
The Yami Gautam led horror comedy, Nayyi Navelli has taken a slow start at the box office in India. According to early estimates, Nayyi Navelli has collected in the range of Rs. 3 crore to Rs. 3.50 crore, which is at par with the pre-release expectations, though the film could have opened bigger with the packaging of horror-comedy.
The film has scored relatively better in the non-national chains owing to the rooted feel in the trailer, but it seems that the reports are not in its favour, which spells a tough sign for the film in the long run. The business started in the morning indicating a start of Rs. 3 crore, but the evening and night have pushed it a little higher towards the Rs. 3.25 crore number.
The film is again made on a relatively higher budget, and it needs to earn at least Rs. 40 crore to break even theatrically, and at the moment that seems like a distant dream, but as they say, the box office is always unpredictable.
Nayyi Navelli's on-ground reports are also not so good, nor are the media reports, but the jump in business on Saturday will give an idea of the long run trajectory of the film.
