Box Office: Liger has low collections on Sunday; Karthikeya 2 [Hindi] keep sailing, is a hit

Liger [Hindi] saw a drop in collections on Sunday as Rs. 3.75 crores* came in. The film had collected Rs. 4.50 crores on Friday and while the collections remained flat on Saturday, growth didn’t come on Sunday and in fact the collections ended up dipping.  Such kind of drops typically take place on Mondays but then post the pandemic, the box office scenario is quite different.

Of course, T20 match between India and Pakistan had a role to play as well since shows were impacted from evening onwards. However, it isn't as if things were really solid in the morning or afternoon shows. After three days now, the film has collected Rs. 13.75 crores* at the box office, and this includes Thursday paid preview collections too. The manner in which the film is currently collecting, it could well have a lifetime score of around Rs. 23-25 crores.

 

Meanwhile, Karthikeya 2 [Hindi] went past the Rs. 20 crores mark on Friday and continues to attract audiences in its third weekend as well. On Sunday, the film brought in Rs. 1.77 crores more and though it is pretty much similar to Saturday collections, at least it hasn't gone down in numbers. The weekdays should be fair from here on, though on the evenings when India is playing a T-20 match, a dip would be evidenced all over again. With Rs. 23.53 crores in its kitty so far, it is now aiming for Rs. 30 crores lifetime. Hit.
