Box Office: Akira holds well on Monday
Sonakshi Sinha's Akira has held well at the Box Office. On Monday, the film brought in Rs. 3.4 crore more, which is a good sum considering the fact that Friday collections were Rs. 5.15 crore. This is more than 60% hold when compared to the first day which is quite respectable. The film has now crossed the Rs. 20 crore mark and stands at Rs. 20.05 crore.Box Office: Akira holds well on Monday
The film benefitted to some extent due to partial holiday of Ganesh Chaturthi in some parts of the country. However, even without that, the Monday collections would have been over Rs. 2.75 crore, which would have been a fair call. The holiday advantage is perhaps to the tune of Rs. 50 lakhs and for a film of this scale and budget, this is a decent figure.
It would be interesting to see how the film now holds up on rest of the weekdays. Anything over Rs. 2.5 crore on a daily basis would be good for the film as it would allow a decent number of shows for this Fox and A.R. Murugadoss affair in the second week. The film will eventually cross Rs. 30 crore mark in its lifetime run and anything over that would help all those who have invested in it as they would feel more comfortable about its eventual verdict.
