Box Office: Ae Dil Hai Mushkil BEATS Shivaay by more than Rs. 75 crores at the global box office and emerges as winner
After much hype and talk about the clash between Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay, both films released and have done well at the box office. In fact the data at the close of the second weekend (November 6, 2016) clearly puts Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in the lead over Shivaay. While the fight between the two movies is a close one at the domestic box office, the fantastic run of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in overseas markets coupled with the disastrous fate of Shivaay in the same territories has resulted in a huge lead for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil globally. At the close of second weekend, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil had grossed approximately Rs. 206 crores globally whereas Shivaay had grossed approximately Rs. 131 crores globally. Evident from this is the fact that Ae Dil Hai Mushkil clearly has taken a Rs. 75 cr lead over Shivaay.
But since both the movies are running in theatres, the final lead tally for Karan Johar’s movie over Shivaay will be most likely to the tune of approximately Rs. 100 crores.
