Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 Box Office: Film beats Gangubai Kathiawadi; ranks as fourth highest opening week grosser of 2022
The Kartik Aaryan – Kiara Advani starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 was released last week on Friday. Since then the Anees Bazmee starrer has been doing brisk business at the box office. After drawing in Rs. 14.11 cr on opening day, the business of the film saw further growth on its opening weekend crossing the Rs. 50 cr mark. Now in its first week running the Bhushan Kumar – Murad Khetani production has managed to hold on with a steady stream of business.
In this box office report, we look at the opening week collections of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 while comparing the same to previous releases of 2022. Collecting Rs. 92.05 cr Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 manages to surpass the collections of Gangubai Kathiawadi which had collected Rs. 68.93 cr to emerge as the fourth-highest opening weekend grosser of 2022. Besides this, the film has to fare better than other releases as well, like Bachchhan Paandey, which collected Rs. 47.98 cr, Heropanti 2 which collected Rs. 23.60 cr, Runway 34 which collected Rs.22.25 cr, Radhe Shyam which collected Rs. 18.20 cr, and Jersey which had collected Rs. 12.21 cr.
However, even though Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 saw a release across 3200 screens in the domestic market, the business of the film does not surpass releases like KGF - Chapter 2 which collected Rs. 268.63 cr, RRR which collected Rs. 132.59 cr, and The Kashmir Files which collected Rs. 97.30 cr.
Going forward, the business of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is likely to see a spike in collections on its second weekend running. With little to no competition from previous and new releases, the business of the film will continue to see growth. As per trade predictions, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 could cross the Rs. 120 cr mark by the end of its second weekend.
