Batla House Box Office Collections – This is how the John Abraham starrer Batla House competes with Satyameva Jayate, Race 2 and Welcome Back

Yet again, John Abraham has secured a double digit opening with a film of his. Not many actors can boast of this feat. However, John Abraham has managed this with Batla House and that too when there has been a formidable opponent in the shape of Mission Mangal.

In the process, the film is now his third biggest grosser ever when it comes to the opening day numbers. His last year release Satyameva Jayate sits right at the top of the list and that film had managed to in fact go past the Rs. 20 crores mark on its release. That too was an Independence Day release and had clashed with an Akshay Kumar starrer (Gold).

 

Though no new record has been scored this time around, the fact still remains that for John Abraham, the film has been a good opener and would be aiming to consolidate from here on.

 

Here is the list of best opening day numbers for a John Abraham starter:

 

Satyameva Jayate – Rs. 20.52 crores

 

Batla House – Rs. 15.55 crores

 

Race 2 – Rs. 15.10 crores

 

Welcome Back – Rs. 14.25 crores

 

Dishoom – Rs. 11.05 crores

 

While Race 2 and Welcome Back were sequels, Satyameva Jayate, Dishoom and now Batla House are stand-alone products. Amongst these films, Satyameva Jayate couldn’t really go past the Rs. 100 crores mark despite opening quite well. One waits to see if John Abraham manages to do that this time around with Batla House.
