Antim Day 2 Box Office Estimate: Salman Khan factor helps Aayush Sharma film; collects Rs. 5.5 cr. on Day 2

Antim: The Final Truth has seen a jump in collections on it's second day as this Mahesh Manjrekar directed film has collected in the range of approx. Rs. 5.50 to 5.90 cr., taking the two day total to approx. Rs. 10.50 cr. The film collected approximately Rs. 5 cr. on Day 1, which was a fair start at the box-office. Having said that, one expected the two day biz to be slightly higher by approx. 20%.

There was a chance of a flat Saturday too, but that has not happened and this is a silver lining for the team suggesting a decent word of mouth in the audience. Much like Friday, the evening and night shows have gone up all across the country taking the two day biz to a respectable figure. The double digit two day aggregate total is a fair number for Antim, taking into account factors like - screen division and lesser screen time for Salman. Maharashtra continues to be the best faring circuit as expected.

 

One must note that the talk is out in the audience now that Antim: The Final Truth is not an out and out Salman Khan film, but more of an Aayush Sharma starrer, with Salman in a key role of around 50 minutes and a jump coming in despite that is a positive sign. The collections have of course seen a boost all across due to Salman's presence, as sans him, the two day biz would have been lower than Rs. 2 cr.

 

The movie is now looking at an opening weekend in the range of Rs. 16-17 crore, and this lays down the platform for it to trend well on the weekdays to somehow get closer to the success tag at the Rs. 50 crore mark in the lifetime run. It's all wait and watch for now, as it's a long journey ahead, but the jump in biz has come across as a ray of hope for not just the team of Antim, but also Hindi film industry as Saytameva Jayate 2 has been a total let down at the ticket window.

 

A lifetime figure upside of Rs. 50 crore will be a good result for Antim, taking it to the success point. The costs are reasonable and hence, there isn't much pressure around recovery, but yet, the half century mark is a must for Antim for a respectable biz.
