Gurinder Chadha's much-awaited film IT'S A WONDERFUL AFTERLIFE has under-performed in U.K. Talking strictly from the business point of view, several Bollywood biggies, starring SRK, Aamir and Akshay in particular, have fetched a far better start on limited screens than IT'S A WONDERFUL AFTERLIFE, which opened in 295 screens.Hardly wonderful!

 

Even otherwise, when you compare the opening weekend numbers of IT'S A WONDERFUL AFTERLIFE with Gurinder's earlier films - BRIDE AND PREJUDICE [£ 1,667,616 on 376 screens; screen average: £ 4,435] and BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM [£ 2,001,795 on 384 screens; screen average: £ 5,213] - the opening weekend numbers of IT'S A WONDERFUL AFTERLIFE are extremely disappointing [£ 464,468 on 295 screens; screen average: £ 1,574].
