The year has been very special for Alia Bhatt, and it’s not just because of the super success of her film, Gangubai Kathiawadi. 2022 is the year she married her boyfriend, Ranbir Kapoor. She is also going to become a mother this year. Her much-awaited film, Brahmastra, will be out in cinemas on September 9. Fans are excited to see the real-life lovers together, especially after seeing their electrifying chemistry in the chartbuster song, ‘Kesariya’.
In an in-depth interview with Mid-Day, Alia Bhatt spoke about it and also revealed some not-so-known details of their love story. When reminded how she would always mention Ranbir Kapoor whenever she was asked about her crush in her interviews, she revealed that she had never intended to date the actor. She said, “I was not actually chasing Ranbir on the side, or plotting to get Ranbir; none of that was happening. The fact that I was saying it obviously means I was not thinking about it.”
Alia Bhatt is happy that her love affair grew organically and naturally. Before they signed Brahmastra, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor knew each other socially and had never interacted much. “There was not even a friendship,” revealed Alia Bhatt.
Alia then opened up about the eureka moment when she felt there was a chance of dating Ranbir. It happened when both were flying to Tel Aviv, Israel, for Brahmastra’s prep. It was a time when both were single and not dating anybody.
She said, “Both of us were like, ‘Oh my God, what were we doing all these years?’ ‘Why aren’t we together?’ It was a question he kinda asked me. I was like, ‘I don’t know!’ So that’s what I was talking about. You cannot plan something like this.”
And the rest is history.
