After the hugely successful Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai (OUATIM) , producer Ekta Kapoor and director Milan Luthria once again join hands to make the sequel to this gangster drama.
Even though the film was announced with much fanfare at an awards show, these are still early days as Milan is currently tied up with The Dirty Picture. However, if the success of OUATIM is anything to go by, rest assured there will be enough people longing to see the sequel too when it hits theatres next year.
The monsoons are here but it's raining sequels in Bollywood. Ever since the success of sequels like Lage Raho Munnabhai, Krrish, Dhoom 2 and Golmaal Returns, our filmmakers waste no time in announcing a sequel if their film turns out to be a hit. The coming few months are likely to see a string of sequels some of which are ready for release and some which have just been announced…
Bheja Fry 2
What's same?
The original Idiot- Bharat Bhushan- played by Vinay Pathak returns once again to fry your brains in this comedy directed by Sagar Ballary.
What's new?
Except Vinay, Bheja Fry 2 boasts of an all new cast comprising of Kay Kay Menon, Minissha Lamba, Amole Gupte, and Suresh Menon. The producers too have changed with the dynamic Mukul Deora taking over the reins from Sunil Doshi. Lastly the film's setting too has changed with the action now taking place on a luxury cruise liner and an island as compared to within a flat in the previous film
Buzz
The film, which released last Friday, has opened to mixed feedback. While the fun quotient doesn't quite match up to the original film, Vinay's goofy act seems to have been liked by the masses
The 4 Jokers Adi (Arshad Warsi), Manav (Jaaved Jaffrey), Roy (Riteish Deshmukh) and Boman (Ashish Chowdhry) return after 4 years and once again they have to outwit their baap Kabir played by none other than Sanjay Dutt. Director Indra Kumar, who tickled our funny bones with Dhamaal, returns once again to entertain us with .
What's new?
While Dhamaal didn't feature a single heroine (quite a rarity in Bollywood), Double Dhamaal makes up for it with 2 sexy ladies- Mallika Sherawat and Kangna Ranaut. Moreover, the 4 funny guys are also seen prancing around in various get-ups which promise to be the highlight of the film. The locations of Thailand only spice up the proceedings in this eagerly awaited sequel
Buzz
After the success of Dhamaal, expectations are obviously high from Double Dhamaal. The promos have been lapped up by the audience who never seem to get enough of a good comedy. Mallika's act seems to have caught the attention of the front-benchers. The film is also having its world premiere at IIFA this weekend, which only adds to the excitement
After the super-duper success of Murder in 2004, the Bhatt camp returns with this sequel featuring their blue-eyed boy Emraan Hashmi. Just like Murder, this one too promises to shock with you with its EQ (Erotic Quotient).
What's new?
One of the highlights of Murder - Mallika Sherawat- no longer features in the sequel and has been replaced by Sri Lankan beauty Jacqueline Fernandez. If the promos are anything to go by, Jackie is ready to set the mercury levels rising with her dare-bare act. While Murder was a love triangle of sorts with Ashmit Patel too enacting a pivotal part, seems like a love story with the right amount of thrills and chills. The captain of the ship-the Director- too has changed with Mohit Suri calling the shots this time around.
Buzz
The Bhatts are known for their aggressive promotional campaign and with Murder 2 too, they seem to have created the right buzz for their film. The promos have become the talk of the town and Emraan and Jackie's sizzling chemistry only adds up to the proceedings. Like any Vishesh Films project, Murder 2 too boasts of melodious music with as many as 4 music directors (Mithoon, Harshit Saxena, Sangeet and Siddharth Haldipur) composing the tracks.

Don 2
What's same?
Farhan Akhtar took everyone by surprise when he tweaked the ending of his version of Don thereby giving him the chance to take the franchise forward. The 'King of Bollywood' Shah Rukh Khan returns in a leaner and meaner avatar as Don in this eagerly awaited sequel from Excel Entertainment. Priyanka Chopra too returns to reprise her role as Roma and so do Boman Irani and Om Puri.
What's new?
While Don also featured Eesha Koppikhar and Arjun Rampal (who unfortunately don't feature in the sequel), will see Lara Dutta and Kunal Kapoor as new members of the cast. Also, while it was Kareena Kapoor who did a cameo in Don, this time it's Hrithik Roshan who would be seen in a special appearance in Don 2.
Buzz
To state that this is among the most anticipated sequels would be an understatement. The film marks Farhan's return to direction after a gap of almost 5 years and die-hard SRK fans would be eager to see the Superstar recreate magic once again come Christmas this year. The first teaser of Don 2 is expected to be showcased along with Excel Entertainment's Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.
