The film has been produced under the joint banners of Sanjay Dutt Productions Pvt. Ltd and M/s Rupali Aum Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.

Rascals tells the story of two competitive conmen played by Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgn who try to outwit each other in order to win over the girl of their dreams played by Kangna Ranaut. Sanjay and Ajay’s characters in Rascals are called Chetan and Bhagat inspired by the famous writer Chetan Bhagat.
