It's going to be a big day on 30th September. The momentum that has been set by Brahmastra needs to be maintained so that one can finally say that things are back to normal in Bollywood. There have been months and months since the reopening of theatres in February that the film industry as a whole has seen a lot of heartbreaks and while Gangubai Kathiawadi. The Kashmir Files, KGF: Chapter 2, RRR, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Brahmastra have shown the way, the need of the hour is to have continued successes at the box office rather than sporadic.
Thankfully, the biggest movie to release after Brahmastra is Vikram Vedha and that by itself manifests into a good performer in the offering. The setup is right, what with Hrithik Roshan arriving with a film of his after War. That one was a Rs. 300 Crore Club affair and with three years gone by since one saw the superstar in action; there is a lot of excitement to catch up back in theatres. For Saif Ali Khan too the film is special since he is coming back in a big screen spectacle more than two years after Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. There is a lot at stake here.
Remake of the Madhavan-Vijay Sethupathi Tamil film by the original director duo Gayatri-Pushkar, Vikram Vedha boasts of a good promo, which does excite one to check it out in theatres. Of course, this one is different from the quintessential commercial entertainers that have come from Bollywood, which means one can't expect a bumper beginning of the film. Still, there is good entertainment value that is promised, which means the film will not just open better than Hrithik Roshan's Super 30 [Rs. 11.83] crores but go much beyond that.
As things stand today, Vikram Vedha is in a real chance to cross Rs. 14 crores milestone for sure on Friday. While that by itself would be a good number indeed since only Brahmastra and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 have managed to surpass this number as far as Bollywood movies are concerned, the real fun would be for Vikram Vedha to hit Rs. 15 crores mark. If that indeed turns out to be the case, the film would be in a real chance to score a bountiful weekend at the box office.
