The stakes are continuing to increase for Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. It started with a 100 Crore Club target, then it moved to Rs. 125 crores, Rs. 150 crores and then eventually Rs. 175 crores. Though Rs. 200 Crore Club entry is out of bounds for the film, it is now heading towards Rs. 190 crores lifetime. This has been made possible after a fantastic second weekend, which has been powered by Sunday collections of Rs. 2.51 crores. This is a very good number for the film as it shows how there is still so much steam left in the film and where it can go sans any competition.
The makers had struck a four week theatrical window deal, and as a result it arrived on Netflix yesterday. That means a potential dent in collections expected in days to come, unless it goes the Pushpa [Hindi] way which was not at all affected by its digital release even as it was doing well theatrically. However, there is JugJugg Jeeyo coming too this Friday, and that would mean some real competition for the Anees Bazmee directed film. Still, the film has already collected Rs. 181.82 crores and in the process broken lifetime record of Bang Bang [Rs. 181 crores].
Meanwhile, Nikamma hasn’t done well at the box office. After its first weekend, the film has collected Rs. 2.50 crores*, which isn’t something that anyone associated with it would have bargained for. On Sunday also the collections stayed below Rs. 1 crore and the trajectory so far indicates that Monday collections may turn out to be lesser than Friday numbers of Rs. 51 lakhs.
