Boxer, Wife, Mother; A Movie or An Inspiration?

Is it just another story or a heavily embroidery Bollywood movie? Or should we call it a fascinating tale of a girl who turns to an inspiration? This movie “M C MARY KOM” directed by debutant Omang Kumar is, in my opinion, the kind of genre that makes it epic not only because of its originality or reality but also the mark of inspiration it leaves at heart lively portrayed by the lead actress who has become the talk of the town for her role in the biopic of five time world boxing champion Mangte Chunguijang Mary Kom, globally known as M C Mary Kom.
A girl who gets a boxing glove in her childhood, gets closer to the game, leaves athletics and joins boxing surprisingly as she meets her future coach Mr. Narjit Singh flawlessly played by Sunil Thapa who trains her and makes her what she is, who becomes her coach, just in seconds. The biopic hit the theatres on 5th of September, 2014 on “Teachers’ Day” which also shows an everlasting and magnanimous relation between a GURU (teacher) and a SHISHYA (student). Later in her career when she takes a break from boxing for her personal reasons and again wants to get into the sport where her heart lies, after becoming the mother of two twin sons, the magnanimity of her coach Mr. Narjit Singh is clearly reflected as one dialogue says, “Ek Aurat Maa Bankar Aur Bhi Strong Ho Jati Hai, Tumara Sakti Ab Doo Guna Ho Gaya Hai, Aur Hum Doo Guna Mehnat Karenge” which means a woman gets stronger, becoming a mother, now your strength has been doubled and we will double our labor.
The labor, in the movie, is heart touching, the agony is heartfelt and the strong binding emotions are heart breaking, neatly and nicely represented by Priyanka Chopra. At a point, the dialogue, “Kisiko Itna Bhi Mat Darao Ki Dar Hi Khatam Ho Jai” (Don’t try to frighten somebody, so that the fright dies itself), is the best punch line which mesmerizingly inspires the audience and holds them tightly till the end. It is certainly a story that shows how love and emotions make her journey till her maiden world championship’s final, when she takes on Sasha (her challenger), the love of father has come up openly and is one of the best emotional moments in the movie.
Priyanka Chopra has got many acclaims for her roles in films like Barfi, Anjana Anjani, and Saat Khoon Maaf etc but this film is so far the best among all others because in every scene you will not find any PeeCeeiac portrayal but you will find a Mary Kom who is a boxer, a wife and a mother who is not only upholding a country but also is an inspiration to the world. After facing heart breaking obstacles like her father’s denial in the beginning, later federation’s evil eye on her etc, the woman scripted history not by winning one, or two, or three, but five world championships out of which the first three championships, she won when she was single.
The best man in her life is her husband Onler Kumar keenly portrayed by Darshan Kumar who meets Mary in a fight where she challenges a strong wrestler, and falls in love at first sight and the love becomes successful as the love hovers tied the knot between them after her third world title. Onler who has stood by her side at every difficult and crucial moment, is one of three persons behind Mary’s epic success. As the movie shows up to the fourth world title and emphasizes on her fourth world title as it was the most exhilarating win under drastic hell bent situations and at the extreme level of agony anybody can ever think of as she wins it in the final segment of the match, even without scoring a single point in the first two segments that clearly depicts one’s discipline, dedication, determination and desire to triumph and it is M C Mary Kom.
