Jannat 2 is the sequel to 2008 Superhit movie 'Jannat' , however these two movies have nothing in common except the title and the makers of the movie. Bhatts have always presented something novel in their films.while Jannat dealt with match fixing, the plot of Jannat 2 rests on arms dealing. Jannat 2 has a good story about a street smart guy who becomes an informer for the ploce and later gets involved in the murky battle between the Police and the Underworld !
The screenplay is good. the first half is good while the second half gets more thrilling and entertaining. the climax is good with many twists and turns ! However Jannat had a much better story and screenplay in comparison.
dialogues are in sync with the plot of the movie but a lot of crass words are injected in the movie.action is raw and enjoyable. the chase sequences are superb ! background score is good. music is first-rate ! 'Jannatien kahaan' and 'Tu hi mera' are the pick of the lot ! cinematography is first rate. Director Kunal Deshmukh does a decent job, but surely Jannat still ranks amongst his finest works ! Jannat 2 works because of its lead performances. Emraan Hashmi is superb is usual ! this actor has again and again proved his versatility and Jannat 2 is no exception ! Randeep Hooda is brilliant ! the actor bears an intense look throughout and delivers a superb performance ! Esha gupta is good however rawness still shows in her work ! but for a debut performance she is quite good ! Manish chowdhury is quite effective in his role ! Sumeet nijhawan is good ! Mohammed Zeeshan ayub is first rate ! Brijendra Kala is Decent. Arif Zakaria is Fair. overall, JANNAT 2 pales in comparison to Jannat but is a decent watch nonetheless ! watch for it the gripping second hour , lilting music and superb performances.
