Sonam Kapoor calls Anand Ahuja The Man after he changes his name after marriage

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja has always called herself a proud feminist and has been very vocal about issues like pay disparity and gender inequality in Bollywood. She has been a poster girl for advocating equal rights for actresses in the industry and has never shied away from controversies related with this issue. Therefore, it was a little bit of a shock to her fans when she promptly took her husband's surname, Ahuja, soon after she got married. The Neerja actress took off to represent a cosmetic conglomerate at the Cannes Film Festival and spoke to press with regard to the same. Marriage and she changing her name was a topic of discussion, of course. When asked about changing her name, she said that Kapoor too is a man's surname and so one gives equal respect to both husband and father. She also pointed out that Anand Ahuja also has added an extra S to his full name and no one is talking about it.

Soon after this, Anand's Instragram handle displayed the change, Anand S Ahuja to which Sonam commented, this is the man but soon deleted it. She also told media that changing their names was their individual choice and people trolling her for the same do not know the real meaning of feminism. She also later specified that though she is now married, she would shuttle between Mumbai and London like she was doing so for past two years and nothing is going to change much.

On a professional front, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja has a jam packed schedule. She will be now promoting Veere Di Wedding in full swing. She would get busy with working on The Zoya Factor with Dulquer Salmaan. It is only after the schedule for this film is over will she able to go on a honeymoon.
