We are hardly a week away from the release of the Akshay Kumar starrer Pad Man. The actor obviously can’t stop smiling with the positive responses his film has been receiving. Despite a delay in its release, Akshay Kumar is more than happy to promote the film. Here’s a new way that the actor found to promote his forthcoming film.

Pad Man, as we know, is unconventional and aims to defy the taboos attached with periods. In a bid to do the same, Akshay Kumar has started what he likes to call the ‘Pad Man Challenge’. The actor has taken to social media to ask his industry friends to take up the challenge. The challenge involves posing with a sanitary pad and sharing the picture on social media. Akshay Kumar extended the Pad Man Challenge to Deepika Padukone, Virat Kohli and Alia Bhatt recently.

Although he has done the same to two of his female friends, the objective of the challenge is to stop period-shaming. In fact, actors like Aamir Khan have already started taking up the challenge. He shared of picture of him posing with a sanitary pad. He also went on to challenge superstars like Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan for the same.

Similarly Akshay Kumar too posted a similar picture of him. He also captioned it as, “Thank you for tagging me @murugaofficial Yes, that’s a Pad in my hand & there's nothing to be ashamed about. It's natural! Period. #PadManChallenge Copy, Paste this & Challenge your friends to take a photo with a Pad! Here I am Challenging @deepikapadukone @imVkohli @aliaa08.” According to his post, Akshay Kumar was challenged by none other than the original Pad-Man himself, Arunachalam Muruganatham.

Pad Man also stars Sonam Kapoor, Radhika Apte among others and it is slated to release on February 9.
