Koffee With Karan 6: Sara Ali Khan talks about her equation with Kareena Kapoor Khan after her marriage to dad Saif Ali Khan; Saif addresses Taimur Ali Khan’s stardom

Koffee With Karan's latest episode saw the dynamic father-daughter duo Saif Ali Khan and Sara Ali Khan. Karan began the show talking about sharing a warm relationship with his own father Yash Chopra while growing up till the time he passed away. He said that his father loved him unconditionally and it has been the most precious relationship. Sara Ali Khan made her debut on the coffee couch of Karan Johar's chat show Koffee With Karan with her dad Saif Ali Khan this past Sunday. And their camaraderie was at absolute best. As the show began, Karan talked about how they are the definition of modern family. Karan addressed the elephant in the room and that asked whether things had changed after Kareena Kapoor Khan came into the Pataudi family.

Sara Ali Khan is Saif Ali Khan's eldest kid from his first marriage to actress Amrita Singh. Karan talked about the family dynamics and asked whether Kareena intervenes during the arguments the family have with each other. Sara said that once Saif was scolding her on the phone and hung the phone twice on her after which she called him the next day. She even said that there have been certain occasions where they are arguing on the phone and Kareena is trying to calm Saif on one side and Amrita Singh has been trying to calm her on another side.

When talking about Saif Ali Khan moving on in his life with Kareena Kapoor Khan, he said that he had written a note to Amrita. Sara had called her dad to talk about the same and was even happier about the wedding after her father's gesture. “When I was getting married to Kareena, for some reason, I wrote a note to Amrita saying this is a new chapter starting. I wrote we had a history and something on the lines of good wishes for both of us. I sent it to Kareena to take a look. I sent it across. Sara called me and said, ‘I was coming anyway but now, I am coming with a happy heart.’ I think that story sums up the attitude of everyone involved,” he said.

Sara also revealed that it was her mother Amrita who had dressed her for the wedding of Saif and Kareena. “My mom dressed me for my father’s wedding. A lot of people would be of the opinion that Kareena was being weird or mom was being weird. It was very comfortable. Everyone was so mature. It was not a big deal,” she said.

Talking about the family dynamics, Sara added said, “Everyone has been clear about their dynamics with me. It has never been confusing. Kareena herself says that ‘look you have a mother and a great one and what I want is for us to be able to be friends.’ My father also never said ‘this is your second mother’ or made it any way uncomfortable." Sara further said that she is happy that she has two homes where she is comfortable and not one uncomfortable one. “I would be like what should I call her 'Kareena or Kareena aunty' and my father would be like ‘you would not want to call her an aunty,” she said.

Saif Ali Khan addressed the failures at the box office but said that it only made him grow as an actor. Seeing the younger actors, he has gained the confidence to take new challenges. With the success of Sacred Games, he could say that this is 2.0 in his phase.

Then, the topic was shifted to something lighter and definitely the more important part- the star power of Taimur Ali Khan. They talked about how innocent he is to wave at the paparazzi. Then, Karan revealed that there is a rate card for the kid and paparazzi earn a good sum for the kid's pictures. The biggest paparazzi of India were made to speak on a video where they talked about how big of a celebrity Taimur is. Saif was absolutely stunned to watch how his little one is growing up in front of the limelight.

A couple of Sara’s videos from her teen days were shown in which one could see that she wanted to become an actress for the longest time. She was way heavy in those days. Sara revealed that she has PCOD due to which it was difficult for her to lose weight.

In the rapid fire round, Karan Johar asked Saif what are the three things he will ask Sara’s boyfriend. “The first three questions Saif Ali Khan the father would ask Sara’s boyfriend.” Replying to the same, Saif said, “Political views, drugs.” Karan further added, “Money would be a nice question to ask, I would ask that first.” To which, Saif had a witty reply, “Got cash? Take her.” Surprised by her father’s response, Sara said, “That sounds so bad.” Sara also states that she wants to marry Ranbir Kapoor but doesn’t want to date him. She wants to date 2018 hit machine, Kartik Aaryan. To this, Saif once again had the same question, “Has he got money? Got money, you can take her!” Flustered by her dad’s response, Sara replied, “You have to stop saying that. It sounds so wrong.”

All in all, the dynamic duo of Saif Ali Khan and Sara Ali Khan made for a fun episode.
