Newlyweds Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh have been maintaining that they have been waiting for the release of Simmba before they take off on their honeymoon. Now that this last release of the year has rocked the box office, the couple has peacefully taken off to their honeymoon, albeit to a secret destination. But a stopover at Colombo seems to have attracted attention, courtesy Instagram handle of former Sri Lankan cricketer Sanath Jayasuriya.
Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh were snapped at Mumbai airport taking off for their honeymoon this weekend. And now Sanath Jayasuriya took to social media to share pictures of the newlyweds from Colombo airport. The cricketer bumped into the couple at the lounging area when it seems that the couple had stopover of sorts at the Sri Lankan capital before taking off to their ‘secret’ destination. Earlier, the actors had maintained that they would be celebrating their honeymoon and the birthday of Deepika during this trip.
On the work front, Ranveer Singh is enjoying a successful run in theatres currently with Simmba. On the other hand, Deepika will start work on her next film, which she will also be producing, once she returns from this trip. The two actors, who have been dating for over six years, tied the knot in November last year in a quintessential traditional Indian ceremony in Italy. The two later also planned over three receptions in Mumbai for close relatives, friends, media and the fraternity.
