Just when we thought the bling bling trend had turned south, our resplendent divas showed us the coolest way to nail this reigning trend, all the way from the French Riviera. As the ladies represent India at the 71st Cannes International Film Festival, they fulfilled their commitments as brand ambassadors – Deepika for L’oreal, Kangana and Huma for the premium French Vodka brand, Grey Goose. Solid hues, pastels and florals may have their charm but making a riveting style statement in bright bold hues of gold, silver and copper with a generous dash of glamorous glitter is not for the faint-hearted. While Deepika kept up her tryst with flirty, floaty fashionable tidings, Kangana sprung in a never before seen avatar that certainly had the global audiences watching in rapt attention. The metallic trend is a must-have for those ladies who want to shine like diamonds or even brighter!

This space-age style has made a worthy transition from the runways into the celebrity closets. With fashion being the focal point of the annual cinematic soiree at Cannes, it’s time to swap those black evening wear and showcase your flashy side. With a plethora of themes to experiment, the good old rock and roll (vintage) along with glamour, this trend looks like it’s here to stay! Deepika Padukone -Metallic Mania

Feeling the summer breeze and notching the ante like never before on her second stint at Cannes, Deepika had us doing a double take with her metallic vibe. The diva donned a gold Alberta Ferretti flowy dress featuring the deepest plunge. Large hoops from Misho Designs coupled with centre-parted sleek hair, bright lips and strong eyebrows rounded out her look.

Kangana Ranaut - Metallic Mania

Styled by Lorna McGee, Kangana brought that sass from the 80s back with the loudest bang and the snazziest all-beaded jumpsuit by Nedret Taciroglu. Fiercely lined eyes, nude lips and signature dramatic curls rounded out her #OOTN.

As she attended the party hosted by the jewellery brand, Chopard, Kangana slipped into yet another shimmery number, a Halpern short number. The flared dress featuring voluminous sleeve on one side and a high neck screamed PARTY and how! Bronzed makeup, curls bunched up in a side-swept manner and Louboutin pumps rounded out her look.

Huma Qureshi - Metallic Mania

Styled by Mohit Rai, Huma ventured into the power dressing category with a platinum chip overload bespoke suit by Nikhil Thampi. A dainty necklace by Piaget with sleek hair and minimal makeup with accentuated eyes rounded out her look.

Attending the party hosted by Chopard, Huma donned an extensively sequined pantsuit by Falguni and Shane Peacock replete with a cape. Bright lips, metallic open sandals and soft waves rounded out her look.
