After much discussion and pondering over her hectic schedule, Rakul Preet Singh eventually decided to come on board despite her busy work commitments. One of the reasons for the same was that she was getting a chance to play the iconic Sridevi on screen. And the actress herself had confessed that she is a huge fan of the actress and was excited to essay her role in the forthcoming NTR Biopic, to be directed by Radha Krishna Jagalarmudi aka Krish. On Rakul’s birthday, the makers of the film decided to gift her fans a gift – her FIRST LOOK!

As of now, social media is abuzz with the pictures of Rakul Preet Singh playing Sridevi. In fact, the actress herself shared the same on her Instagram page. People, who have been following up on the NTR biopic would be aware that, Rakul Preet Singh plays Sridevi of the late 70s and 80s. Hence, the first look of the Yaariyaan actress has been designed keeping the Sridevi of that era in mind. The nose ring, the other accessories and the saree drape of Rakul will definitely remind you of the female superstar.

For the uninitiated, Sridevi has been one of the most popular co-stars of N T Rama Rao during his film days. In fact, one amongst them is the blockbuster Vetagudu! The makers of the NTR Biopic decided to reveal another sneak peek of Rakul as Sridevi but this time with Balakrishna as NTR. They released a picture of the onscreen couple together and this moment is from the song 'Aaku Chatu Pinde Tadise' from the 1979 hit film. The same was posted by Rakul Preet on her Instagram page.

Besides her, the film features Vidya Balan as Basavatarakam, Rana Daggubati as Chandrababu Naidu amongst others.

On the other hand, recently the makers of the film announced that the biopic will be released in two parts, that is, NTR Kathanayakudu and NTR Mahanayakudu that will be divided between his film and political journey. Readers may be aware that NTR was not only a popular actor but also the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. While both films will release in January 2019, NTR Kathanayakudu will release on 9th and NTR Mahanayakudu will release on 24th.
