The Aamir Khan starrer Secret Superstar released just 13 days ago in China. Though this Advait Chandan directed film saw a much delayed released in this market as compared to the rest of the world Secret Superstar has been doing rather well. After surpassing the collections of Aamir Khan’s previous release Dangal in its opening weekend and opening week, the business of Secret Superstar has now begun to slow down.
However, while the collections of Secret Superstar on its thirteenth day have dropped marginally the film still has managed to draw in a USD 3.17 million [Rs. 20.16 cr] on Day 13 in China. Interestingly, while on one hand the business of Secret Superstar on its thirteenth day is higher than the business of the Hollywood flick Maze Runner: Death Cure that collected USD 2.49 million [Rs. 15.84 cr] on its sixth day, on the other when compared to Aamir Khan’s Dangal the collections of Secret Superstar lag far behind. In fact, Dangal that had released a while back had raked in a massive USD 4.20 million [Rs. 26.90 cr] on its 13th day running.
As for Secret Superstar, with the business of the film slowing down a bit, the current total collections of the film within the Chinese box office are pegged at USD 76.09 million [Rs. 484.12 cr]. Given that the film will continue to run in theatres for a while more it looks more than likely that the next target for the business of Secret Superstar is the Rs. 500 cr mark.
