The album, scored by the Kaal duo - Salim-Sulaiman against Jaideep Sahni, Piyush Mishra and Asif Ali Beg's lyricmanship, kickstarts with the swinging of shehnais and dholaks in the upbeat rhythm of Aaja nachle. Going by the promos, Madhuri is going to be a glittering dream to behold...

Madhuri Dixit herself opens Soniye Mil Ja to set the mood of the track followed by Sukhwinder Singh and for a small portion, Sunidhi Chauhan. This track, too, has a small-town feel to it and echoes celebration throughout.

'Soniye Mil Ja' is similar, with a very theatrical feel to it. The song is sung by Sukhwinder Singh, Sunidhi Chauhan and Madhuri Dixit herself. The song is very upbeat, yet mellowed by the importance of the lyrics, which are a little different and obviously come loaded with references that you would understand only if you have watched the film.

The final track Dance with Me is even harder to fathom yet adds little more to the soundtrack so I will keep it short; it’s an all out English track accompanied with 80s beats, 80s singing (by Sonia Saigal) and well…everything about it takes you back to the 80s! As a friend remarked the ‘nonsensical’ lyrics (by Asif Ali Beg) sum it up perfectly...

"Aaja Nachle", a tantalizing "chocolate box" title track about the zeal and notion of spirited dancing is a brilliant solo songstress effort by ever versatile Sunidhi Chauhan.

Beautifully struck vocal chemistry between Shreya Ghoshal and Sonu Nigam creates a magical 'Is Pal'. The song is perfectly set to become one of the most sought after romantic tracks of the year 2007. Likewise, the song looses its impact slightly in the verses till the words 'Is Pal Main Hoon' get you back to a soft and melodious atmosphere.

O Re Piya is a very gloomy track. Crooned by maestro of romantic songs, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, the song is not bang on. Though the lyrics are fine with an equally good music, the song will take time to grow on you. Also, it is unduly long which might just put someone to catch some Z's!

If Madhuri Dixit is not enough of a promise, try the soundtrack of the film. Music makers Salim and Suleiman seem to have gone all out for the music scape of this Aditya Chopra film.

Madhuri Dixit Laila Majnu's Koi patthar se na maare is recycled in new skin, colour and tone by Salim-Sulaiman here. The intensity is hard-hitting but misplaced resulting in Koi sounding more of a patriotic tribute instead of a lover's heartbreaking lament.
