OLLO is a richly textured parable about a lower middle class boy and his unswerving ambition to make it to or break into the nouveau riche, and Dibakar Banerjee's thoroughly real characters and inspiring attention to detail gives an amazingly slice-of-life feel to the film.

The film never really explains satisfactorily why Lucky becomes Lucky the petty thief, and to be fair to the director, it was probably never the intention of the director.

Absolutely unapologetic about his petty crimes Dibakar Bannerjee's Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! is inspired by a true-life life Plucky who, of course, eventually became Oye Unlucky! The outcome is as tasty as a sarson da saga smile-raiser which goes balle balle with the Punjabis living in the seamier sides of Delhi.

Oye Lucky Lucky Oye is the story of a Delhi thief - Lucky (Abhay Deol) who is like any ordinary middle-class boy with aspirations to fame and money. But unlike going through the normal route of working hard and finding a job, he finds the quick way ? that of stealing! He treats his illegal activities with utmost seriousness and believes that every steal is an assignment.

The jokes in Oye Lucky Lucky Oye fly at you from all directions, and they seldom fail because in most cases the characters aren?t in on the joke.

Oye Lucky Lucky Oye could have been a fine film, but for its lack of purpose, and the zero depth to Lucky's character.

feel like sending a text message out to see if the drama in the real world seems any closer to an end.

1 of 1 people found this review helpful Oye Lucky, Lucky Oye is a story of Lucky Singh (Abhay Deol) who plays a loveable thief, someone who even the Delhi police are extremely fond of. His modus operandi is to outsmart the people, chowkidars and policemen with his sharp mind and wit.

1 of 1 people found this review helpful The story of OLLO is about a smart thief Lucky (Abhay Deol). Lucky has a simple outlook to life ? if you don't have it, get it by any which means; even if that means stealing! Soon he gains enough importance to be on prime time news. But as he gets bigger, he rubs the biggie in his world ? Gogi Bhai (Paresh rawal) - the wrong way.

Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! starts off really well. The teenage years of Lucky, his relationship with his father, his first crush, his friends? the seeds are sown rightly. But once Lucky starts committing one crime after another, the story stagnates. There's no dramatic twist in the tale and that is its biggest flaw.

'Oye Lucky Lukcy Oye' is about the the ultimate Super Theif (Abhay Deol) who transforms into stealing anything and everything, from car, TV, music system, crockery, artefacts, furniture, even dry fruits, also a pomeranian... everything but the kitchen sink.

The film only fails in the music department, by Sneha Khanwalkar. The dhols and drums get too loud from time to time, and get very annoying.

Oye Lucky ... works perfectly as a simple story of a young boy (Abhay Deol) who is driven to crime not because he is hungry, poor, starving.... Instead, he drives off with a Merc, steals a music system, walks off with a laptop, unplugs a TV from an upmarket house, all with impunity, only because he wants the good life and believes everyone has a right to fine living.

Its genius however lies in wrapping the whole thing in an extremely entertaining package. The film is just so much fun and the subtle messages so cleverly built into the writing that you never ever get the feeling that somebody is pushing an intellectual agenda.

The film is good fun with many subtle messages so cleverly built into the writing that you never ever get the feeling that somebody is pushing an intellectual agenda. The opening sequence is clearly paisa vasool and should not be missed.

The film intentionally avoids a moral tone to the protagonist or the plot. It neither justifies Lucky's illicit acts nor works towards the conversion of his character.

1 of 1 people found this review helpful Paresh Rawal in the triple role is absolutely convincing. You feel as if three different actors have played the part. It?s only Paresh's face that gives him away.

1 of 2 people found this review helpful The film too captures the sentiment and ambience of the city quite well. In terms of its shooting locales and even the way in which the characters speak remind you of the part of the Capital where cycle rickshaws ply even to this day and a Sunday evening out does not necessarily mean visiting a multiplex.
