0 of 1 people found this review helpful Writer, Abhishek has also shown some imaginative strokes. The onscreen performances of the actors mirror the status of their characters in the band throughout the movie. Almost as if the rock band's chemistry is shared by the four actors. Also, despite parallel narration of two time-spans, very rarely does any event seem out of place...

4 of 4 people found this review helpful Rock On seems to be clearly designed by Farhan Akhar as his own acting debut and he doesn't let himself down. Lending voice to all his songs helps him to get into his character with effortless ease...

1 of 2 people found this review helpful The film does not just pour light on the issue of music rather it also talks about relationships. The director has captured each and everything very sensitively and remarkably on the screen...

1 of 2 people found this review helpful Rock On is the story of four friends who love music and have their own band Magik. Aditya (Farhan Akhtar) is the lead singer, Joe (Arjun Rampal) the lead guitarist, Rob (Luke Kenny) sorts out the keys and KD (Purab Kohli) is the mad drummer. All four of them dream of making it big with their rock band, they go through the grind of performing at small gigs to make money and survive...

1 of 3 people found this review helpful Farhan Akhtar doesn't exactly have a range of expressions to display but is more than competent and convincing. Arjun Rampal gives his angst and ecstasy a lifelike edge...

0 of 2 people found this review helpful The film is largely predictable and the tag of being a second 'Dil Chahta Hai'(DCH) weighs heavily upon it. The two films are quite similar, not just because they are both 'buddy flicks', but also largely in treatment. Ego hassles between two best friends leading to a rift reminds you of the tiff between Aamir Khan and Akshaye Khanna's characters in Dil Chahta Hai...

1 of 3 people found this review helpful Rock On!! is most likely to become a cult hit—one that achieves cult status and mainstream success as well. And I say this with a double exclamation point, like in the film's title. Don't miss it...

9 of 10 people found this review helpful Rock On works -- and how -- because of some fine, understated work from all departments. The camera never lingers long enough on Rampal's fingers to show that he is faking it (to his credit, he has learned chord shapes...

5 of 6 people found this review helpful Rock On will go down in Bollywood history as the closest we have ever come to capturing the essence of rock music, and the artistic soul on screen. You may or may not like rock as a genre, but if you have ever had a dream and have watched it crumble like autumn leaves, if you have ever bonded with friends over a song or a beat...

3 of 4 people found this review helpful Farhan delivers with ease and with a great amount of conviction. The transition in character from one phase of life to another is not just brought about in his attire but very well with his body language. Farha's unconventional voice works in his favour and the myth that a hero should have a heavy baritone is done away with.

3 of 3 people found this review helpful Hats off to Abhishek Kapoor, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani for giving us a truly entertaining film in all aspects. I'm not going to indulge in fault-finding just for the heck of critically reviewing a movie. It's the 'Rock On' effect that's rejuvenated me.

It is a satisfying watch as one comes back having heard and seen a story which has been very well told and well enacted too. 4 of 5 people found this review helpful The movie has a Hollywood feel; the casting is just perfect, every character is given due importance, the music is way above brilliant, and the lyrics are something you will rarely hear in a rock ballad...
