The film's main problem is nothing but its thin line plot, packaged with some extremely bad jokes that do not work at all. Also, in the name of humour, a lot of sequences seem to violate the thin line of acceptance, which makes it difficult to watch for family audience.

The musical interludes (Anu Malik) and choreography (Vaibhavi Merchant) served to strengthen an otherwise, hollow creation.

Kambakkht Ishq is what is called a masala film - an extravagant production filled with slapstick gags, furious action and music videos, wrapped around a size zero story, as befitting its lean mega stars. It's a film meant for the masses, with emphasis on asses.

7 of 17 people found this review helpful Kambakkht Ishq has slapstick and mindless stuff from the 80s and 90s. Due to the hype, it will be a hit but it's not a landmark film for anyone.

3 of 4 people found this review helpful Kambakkht Ishq has attractive camerawork, and set in the heart of Hollywood you're treated to a ringside view of such local attractions as the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Universal Studios and the Kodak Theatre. There is also the opportunity to see a few daring stunts being filmed, but those scenes sadly are too short.

So what really works in Kambakkht Ishq. Merely the gloss and a valiant effort on the part of Akshay Kumar to keep the laughs trickling in, here and there, with his off-beat sense of timing.

Kambakkht Ishq encompasses many of the traits that are required for a successful film: a good-looking popular actor who will jump off buildings, a snooty actress dressed to kill, and great scenes and sights.
