1 of 2 people found this review helpful Unlike every other sleazy love story, Jab We Met is fun-filled and pleasing. With minimal rona-dhona and drama, no vulgarity, no villain - no fights, director Imtiaz Ali takes us on a scenic and entertaining romantic journey. Imtiaz has handled the story and the emotions connected with it deftly and this paralleled with Shahid-Kareena's realistic yet dazzling performance makes this movie a fantastic treat which was worth the wait.

1 of 2 people found this review helpful Jab We Met is one of those rare films which is not lifted by its screenplay at all. It is only Imtiaz's vision of making a simple love story with a breath of fresh air, his ability to repackage something we have witnessed several times before and make it feel new that saves the screenplay. It has been a while since we have seen a fresh love story and we should thank Imtiaz for reminding us that sometimes it not what you say but how well you say it.

1 of 2 people found this review helpful Shahid Kapoor too does a wonderful job as the jilted lover who gets a new approach in life. He picks up from where he left off in Sooraj Barjatya's Vivah but this time only better...

1 of 2 people found this review helpful 'Jab We Met' is director Imitiaz Ali's second film after 'Socha Na Tha'. And with this one - Ali proves that he is a master of the gentle, slice of life romance. 'Jab We Met' is a breezy watch - it is witty, it is contemporary, with loads of good music and some very good acting, which never goes over the top...

1 of 2 people found this review helpful Fresher than any romantic comedy you've seen this year Jab We Met works because it delivers what it promises – a snug, heart-warming, relatable love story, indeed a respectable follow-up to director Imtiaz Ali's last film Socha Na Tha.

1 of 4 people found this review helpful Because so much of the publicity of the film is based on the Shahid-Kareena romance and break-up, it is inevitable that you look for signs. The good news is that the chemistry between them is crackling. The bad news is that you tend to read a lot more than you should...

1 of 5 people found this review helpful The film starts with a rich industrialist-scion, Aditya (Shahid Kapoor) being dumped by his girlfriend. Unable to take it in his stride, he wanders purposeless; boards a train and decides to commit suicide. Only this is not to be, for in the train is Geet (Kareena Kapoor) full of zest and life.

2 of 3 people found this review helpful That apart, while the end is predictable (and happy of course), due to Kareena's change of personality in the second half due to circumstances, the charm is lost somewhere. A wee-bit trim in the second half may work for the better.

2 of 3 people found this review helpful Actually, Jab We Met written-directed by Imtiaz Ali, is quite a delight, particularly for its the chirpy-chirpy-cheep-cheep girl and the retentive, moan-groan boy. Directed with a flair for garnishing even the most abject of circumstances with humour and irony, here’s a feel-cool movie. Wonderful...

2 of 9 people found this review helpful The films drags endlessly during the last half hour - infact that part is completely unecessary, for the end is very predictable. JWM belongs to Kareena, not that her acting is mindblowing or soemthing but she puts up a fairly decent performance...

7 of 8 people found this review helpful This film is definitely Kareena's best performance to date. She essays the fun loving and talkative character of Geet with aplomb and anybody else doing so much justice to the role seems unimaginable! Shahid Kapur shows remarkable maturity in his performance and breathes life into the character...

18 of 24 people found this review helpful Shahid, on other hand, acts composed and provides a perfect foil to the Kareena's bubbly character.
Pritam's music also enhances the film. Lyricist Irshad Kamil deserves a special mention for the song, Yeh Ishq Hai.
