The actor turned director Jugal Hansraj does brilliant with the direction but lacks in the script, which is the big flaw of the movie
. The story is routine 80s formula. There is no novelty in the story. Dialogues are not well-penned. The ones the villain speaks can even not be comprehended by the adults...

Romeo is a dog who once lived in luxurious surroundings. Unfortunately, for him, his owners decide to migrate to London and he is left at the mercy of the servant of the house, who dumps him on the street. Left to fend for himself...

Technically, the film does well— perhaps a result of Yash Raj’s teaming with Walt Disney. The 3 D animation (Tata Elxsi-VCL) is a delight as is the cinematography by Anshul Chobey. Writer-director Jugal Hansraj gives us a good product that could have been superlative, had the writing matched up to its technical brilliance...

Roadside Romeo is enjoyable at certain part for Kids, but they wouldn't be relishing all throughout with it. Flaws are blatant on screenplay and dialogues uttered by characterizations (Charlie Anna speaking in South Indian language slang) and not many vistas do really attract adults.

Animation as a medium is huge and extremely flexible for stories impossible to make in live action. Take a Shrek, Cars or a Ratatouille for example. With Roadside Romeo, Indian animation has come of age. But the film does not leave enough content like the aforementioned Hollywood flicks...

'Roadside Romeo' is not a path-breaking animation film, but it certainly is a lighthearted entertainer that will leave the kids woofing with joy.

The second half of Roadside Romeo is far more enjoyable than the first, as this is where things really pick up. The duo (Romeo and Laila) hook up without too much courting but Charlie’s gofer, spots them enjoying a kiss (a regular in YRF flicks these days)...

The animation in Roadside Romeo may be fairly simplistic, pitted against Pixar gems like Ratatouille and Wall-E most recently, but that's not even what hurts the film most. It's the lifeless script and its across-the-board uninteresting characters that are its biggest failing.

Khan as Romeo nails it. It's what you call a perfect fit, extremely well done. Kareena though brings to Laila a sensual quality; her voice in many points' sounds restrained, while the animated character's actions are anything but that. Charlie Anna, the villain, is the character you walk out loving the most, courtesy...

Roadside Romeo is an innocuous, extremely basic kids film -- with a plot so predictable it'll make grown-ups sleepy -- and while it might well strike a chord with reality-show lovin' bachchas who dig all things filmi, the entire project smacks of wasted potential.

Roadside Romeo doesn't have pedestrian portrayal of animation. For Gods sake the genre has finally overcome mythological boundaries and the animation has upgraded over the Amar Chitra Katha variety. In fact this animation is at par with any modern-day Hollywood flick and the spirit is true-blue Bollywood to the core...

Roadside Romeo brings to India all the animation and special effects that you normally associate with films in the West. And I think that's the Walt Disney mark on the project. Having said that no credit can be taken away from the team in India – Tata Elxsi – for their fantastic work with the animation.
