3 of 3 people found this review helpful Bhandarkar takes us through a labyrinth of emotions, some devastating in their gut-level directness. But at the end, we come away with a film that gives us something to hold on to permanently even as the characters on screen lose practically everything worth holding on to.

1 of 1 people found this review helpful With his latest offering, Madhur Bhandarkar has proved that he has more than just facts to share. For Fashion, unlike his other movies, is not just a depiction of reality, but a story... a tale... and that too surprisingly a delightful one! Keeping in mind Madhur's delight quotient that is...

1 of 1 people found this review helpful The story starts to feel just a little stretched towards the end. It could have definitely used some cutting here and there. As stated earlier, even though Kangana was great in her role, the movie could have used someone else playing that character for more of an impact.

1 of 2 people found this review helpful While first half is great, the second half moves around in circles. After having established the characters and their importance, the film keeps hitting on a nail that has already been hammered. Bottom-line the film is about the fashion world, colours, textures, character looks, lighting and so many other elements could have been utilized...

1 of 1 people found this review helpful The film is more about models than about fashion, really. It is not about the designers, the clothes or the creative process. In Madhur's world the designers are either gay or exploitative or both and of course quite like in Page Three almost all socialites are bad, sad and bitchy...

2 of 2 people found this review helpful Madhur Bhandarkar can, once again, be credited for designing an author-backed role for an actress and extracting her career-best performance. This undoubtedly could be tagged as Priyanka Chopra?s best act till day...

0 of 1 people found this review helpful Largely, there's too much yakety yak here. Everyone talks their heads off as if they were at a TV panel discussion, including a dialogue nugget about, "You won't recognise yourself and yourself won't be able to recognise you." Huh?

1 of 1 people found this review helpful "Fashion" explores the world of style through the emotional personal journey of the key people that make the industry, the dream-weavers of that elaborate world of glamour: the models, designers, photographers, businessmen, agencies etc.

5 of 5 people found this review helpful As a viewer you can almost guess and pick who the persona he is talk about in the film. And while most may not want to openly acknowledge it, those who are a part of this glitzy world of glamour know that almost 90% of what Madhur has depicted is true and correct.

1 of 1 people found this review helpful The movie is about the rise and fall and phoenix like re-birth of India's number one Supermodel. Set against the glittering backdrop of the glamorous but ruthless world of haute couture fashion, this tells the story of one small town girl with a dream and the determination to make it a reality.

3 of 3 people found this review helpful Madhur Bhandarker, the master director of realistic fares, always makes the movies which are so close to reality. Above all, he weaves the story so brilliantly on screen that you love to stay with and want to see the film time and again. The master filmmaker does mammoth research on the subject, he plans to make a film on and that research depicts in his films...

2 of 2 people found this review helpful Fashion seems to be telling us that a driven, career-oriented woman is destined to be alone and suffer all manner of indignities if a good man (her father, her boyfriend, her friend's husband) isn't around to rescue her or to place her on the right path when she loses her way...

2 of 2 people found this review helpful In Fashion too, his gaze remains artificial; exploitative, ready to milk any bit of juicy news. And sadly, this has happened at the cost of this industry?s misrepresentation. The promos tell you all, and frankly are far more absorbing that the three hour-plus film.
