Dharmendra gives a good performance. Vinay Pathak is in his elements again. The actor is a bundle of talent. Rimi Sen has an important role and she delivers it with conviction. Zakir Hussain is terrific.

This film is definitely a milestone in Dharmendra's career. He gives a splendid and endearing performance. Vinay Pathak excels in a serious role. Zakir Hussain as Shardul is good. Rimi Sen essays very well the character of Mini, Vikram's love interest. Govind Namdeo as Kalyan and Ashwini Kalsekar as Prakash's wife are also pretty good.

Vinay Pathak faithfully bumbles his way through keeping totally in character. But it is Neil Nitin Mukesh who holds your attention throughout. He shows none of the awkwardness of a first film, and is an actor to watch out for.

Johnny Gaddaar is self-explanatory and nothing goes over the top. Lack of promotion and star-value is resulting in the film running to empty houses. Take advantage of the situation and watch the film now.

Johnny Gaddaar is far from perfect – there are inconsistencies and incongruity that will doubtless keep pickers of nits happy – but that shouldn't get in the way. It's better than your average multiplex movie and definitely worth a dekko for the taut storyline and the craftsmanship on display...

In the second-half, the nearly-forgotten Govind Namdeo is a delight as a creepy cop, disclosing a distinct flair for comedy. But was that finger-castrating bit of violence at all necessary? Right, the Coen Brothers have done it too. But really, Raghavan should just stop watching too many movies and pop up with an original, straight-from-real-life screenplay...

If there's one problem and one problem alone with Johnny Gaddaar, it's the fact that the screenplay slips up in the second half. The film's about 30 minutes too long, and as a result, even the unpredictability becomes monotonous.

Director Sriram has chosen to make it different. Unlike other thrillers where the identity of the culprit is kept a secret till the climax nears, in Johnny Gaddar there is absolutely no beating around the bush. The audience knows right from the outset what transpires and who the culprit is. Johnny Gaddar takes the audience on a journey full of suspenses.

Hats off to Sriram Raghavan (Ek Hasina Thi) for making a brilliant, intelligent thriller. He is the actual hero of this film full of grey characters. He wins half the battle with his perfect casting and rest by the manner in which he unfolds his narrative without letting your attention waver for even a minute...

Neil Nitin Mukesh makes a very confident debut and in this complex role fits like hand in glove; though the throw in his dialogue delivery could have been better at places. Dharmendra is better than his recent outings in Metro and Apne; he is much more restrained and in control. Vinay Pathak displays his versatility, yet again. Zakir Hussain is purely natural...

After an endearing performance in Apne, Dharamendra sizzles the screen once again. Vinay Pathak is brilliant as usual. The film's casting is just perfect; it's the crowning glory...

To say that, the film is an unabashed homage to the 70s thrillers would be an understatement. JOHNNY GADDAR sometimes plays more like a noir and sometimes it becomes a slick thriller...

Raghavan weaves that in perfectly. He also occasionally shines in his settings, which, by presently lazy Bombay-movie standards, may not be much of a compliment. His last, Ek Haseena Thi, showed the true insides of a jail. On this, he executes a crackling train sequence outside of a first-class non-AC compartment...

Performance keeps the mood of the movie alive and in Johnny Gaddar it is just satisfactory. Dharmendra is mediocre and at times over acts. His dialogue delivery too was rather monotonous. Debutant Neil Mukesh lacks in expressions in certain scenes but has managed to pull off his act well. Vinay Pathak in a non-comical role is good. Zakir Hussain is excellent...

First half is plain brilliant. The murder sequences almost without fail, are brilliantly shot, especially the train sequence. Emotional appeal is also well in place with the characters of Dharmendra and Vinay's wife. The negatives are mostly in the second half. The film loses its most attractive feature in this half – its pace...

Rimi Sen is looking fabulous. Her curves are complimented by the way in which she has delivered her scenes. Zakir Hussain is very good. Daya Shetty excels in his role.
Johnny Gaddaar is a film that blends style with intelligence. For a change, do get your brains to the theatres.

Johnny Gaddaar assumes that we're a thinking, breathing audience and not just popcorn-munching machines, as it holds the audience's hand and leads them through intricate planning, and a lot of twists and turns.

'Johny Gaddar' has some more talent. Vinay Pathak is once again marvelous. He fits the role like a T. He has finally marked his place in the industry and his name brings in value for a project...

What impressed me the most was how much I enjoyed the movie despite being a little dissatisfied with the two main departments of the movie - the two most visible ones. Though acting and dialogues are not necessarily the selling points of a movie in this genre. Just goes to show what a long way treatment of material can take a movie.
