OSO has serious glamour, thumping music and some inspired comic moments but the film never aspires to be more than a time-pass entertainer, which coming from such a talented crew is disappointing...

Farah and Shah Rukh Khan pull out all the stops to keep the story moving at a frenetic pace and keep the viewer entertained. Om's mother in his earlier birth Kirron Kher (hilarious as the OTT mother for whom life is one long performance) turns up to claim him still as active as ever, and his best buddy, co junior artiste Pappu (Shreyas Talpade) is now a confidante of his.

On the whole, Om Shanti Om is entertaining but in parts. Barring a few portions of the film which are filled with humour, content and 'fun'tastic music, the remaining plot is a blend of clinched form of entertainment. The high expectations from a highly talented cast and crew of Om Shanti Om gives out an average show this Diwali...

The first half is fun filled, funny in parts but watchable. It's basically a spoof on the era of the 70s. There is a sequence where SRK is shown shooting for a tamil movie. The style with which he fights the gunda's and the tiger stuffed doll coupled with amusing dialogues is hilarious...

Om Shanti Om is mostly loads of fun in a featherweight, pink candy floss, deposit-your-brains-in-the-cloak-room-before-entering-the-theater kind of way. It does slacken pace in places, and appears to lose its way a couple of times, but redeems itself in the end.

Then that's three out of five for director Farah Khan's Om Shanti Om, a film that brings the fun back into the movies. A swell song-and-dance drama that's sensationally senseless, go watch it and prepare to come back beaming.

The movie dazzles you throughout with its gripping story line. My first thought at watching the trailers was that it was going to be a remake of Hollywood B movie called Chances Are but it was far from it...

OSO is not path breaking cinema - but it is not meant to be. Within its own genre though, the film is clever, high on energy, good looks and production values. For her third film though, Farha Khan will need to go beyond reinventing the cinema she loves - but that's something we can come to later.

Apart from the content, OSO is also a technically sound film. The cinematographer doesn't try too many stylistic shot compositions but yet captures the gist of the story. The editing by Shirish Kunder is slick and tight. And the special effects - transposing Deepika Padukone with the likes of Sunil Dutt, Rajesh Khanna and Jitendra – are of super quality.

All up where does that leave OM SHANTI OM? Well there is enough in the movie to warrant one watch, however the movie definitely falls way below expectations, and by no means is it the entertainer of all entertainers. In her attempt to show off her creative ingenuity Farah has lost focus on the core story that she’s telling, and as I said before, she bites off more than she can chew...

Shah Rukh Khan is at his best once again. In top form, SRK plays the two Oms with complete ease. It would be difficult to imagine another actor enacting the same roles with so much flamboyance. With good support from Kiron Kher (Om's mother) and Shreyas Talpade (Om's friend), the trio form an amusing team...

Ok, so here's the verdict - the first half of the film is funny and watchable. The film starts getting a bit boring minutes before the interval, and 10-20 minutes after interval, it turns into a yawnfest with random songs thrown in with unfunny jokes and unbelievable situations...

Technically Om Shanti Om is good, but as an entertainer, a major disappointment. The fact that it is such a terrible let down, is yet to sink in. What was Farah Khan (director) thinking? How could she make such a bad film, after directing a decent entertainer in Main Hoon Na? What was Shahrukh Khan thinking when he approved the script? How could almost everything go so wrong in a movie...

Shah Rukh first plays one Omprakash Makhija, a minor actor, or Bollywood junior-artiste of the '70s. He aspires to become a movie-star. His commonplace surname is not the only deterrent to that dream. Makhija comes from a home of junior-artistes...

The crowd, the hysteria and the cheers !!
2007 Diwali will be definitely remembered for very long time, courtesy - Om Shanti Om. It was fireworks full of stars on the screen and above all the shining moon - Shah Rukh Khan. Let's clear few things first; Om Shanti Om is good combination all previous re-incarnation blockbusters like - Karz...

Farah Khan and SRK's and the entire film industry's sassiness to do a take off on the take off, because, when you look at it, the film is not just a take off on '70s Bollywood but also on today's filmy frenzy!
