12 of 12 people found this review helpful It's entertaining alright and viewers are bound to see Salman Khan in a very different light. Is it the Govinda magic that has rubbed off on Salman, or David Dhawan's directorial abilities?...

17 of 17 people found this review helpful Inspired by the Will Smith-starrer Hitch, Partner, starring Salman Khan and Govinda, works wonderfully because of the chemistry between the two central characters.

5 of 7 people found this review helpful Coming to Prem, aka Salman Khan, he is one actor who can look good even in the worst of situations. His elegant look with his toned body are only going to triple the number of his fans. Sallu Miyan's screen presence is powerful and compliments well with Govinda.

3 of 4 people found this review helpful Overall, 'Partner' is a stylish and crazy entertainment. It is a de-stress therapy and by the end of the film all your facial muscles would have got a good exercise. It's a sure success at the box office.

The finale of Partner is the most hilarious. If other comedies made the viewers roll with laughter in their seats, Partner will make them roll with laughter on the aisles.

2 of 2 people found this review helpful However the movie has its shares of flaws. The editing is badly messed up and some of the side comedy tracks like the Chota Don track (Rajpal Yadav) keep popping up and disappearing abruptly. Also the misunderstanding in the pre-climax was not at all required and is simply dragged on without rhyme or reason...

PARTNER is a film that comes with incredible hype for a number of reasons. Firstly the movie pairs up Salman Khan with David Dhawan again after the success of countless movies including JUDWAA, BIWI NO.1, DULHAN HUM LE JAYENGEI, MUJHSE SHAADI KAROGI and MAINE PYAAR KYUN KIYA...

Questioning its box office do is foolishness in itself. Partner has enough comedy in it to sail through good collections. Besides the star cast who will draw in a good amount of crowd, the excessive marketing will prove to be an added plus...

The main flaw is the lack of consistently riotous dialogue – several times you're expecting great repartee, and the lame lines get pretty disappointing. And of course, like with all David Dhawan films, you have to deposit your brain at the ticket counter before entering the theater.

Salman Khan and Govinda dressed in multi hued clothes that somehow don't look crass but add colour to the characters, are in great form. So well do they play against each other while retaining their own identities entirely that they are a treat to watch. This is a wonderful comeback vehicle for Govinda and Salman Khan gamefully shares equal screen space with him.

0 of 1 people found this review helpful No doubt, Salman and Govinda are in crackling form and their chemistry is easily one of the highlights of the film.It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that Partner picks up momentum each time Chi Chi appears on screen and there's not one scene where he doesn't make you laugh.

The film's pace is fine. Things just keep happening. It's just towards the end that the film gives the impression of being stretched unnecessarily. The entire honeymoon sequence could have been shorter. It just goes on and on and does become a little predictable.

1 of 1 people found this review helpful The comedy in the dialogues is in rhyme. For instance when Govinda finds Salman with his (Govinda's) girlfriend on a boat, he says Tu meri girlfriend ka saiyaan ban ke, naiiya ke upar, chaiyya chaiyya kar raha hai. Or in another scene when Govinda forgets to wear his pants, Salman says: "Dude, you're practically nude"...

0 of 1 people found this review helpful Just imagine. Milord, the accused in the court today are David Dhawan, Govindaji and Salman Khan saheb. I come to defend them because I am quite fed up of hurling accusations at them. Mr Dhawan has been left off scot-free every time.

Overall Partner is an above average comedy flick that is a time-pass entertainer. At the box-office it should have a good turn-out. Partner may not have an original script and flawless screenplay but performances and chemistry between Govinda and Salman is what makes the film an amusing comic caper...

There's no cleaner casting for these lead roles and Partner balances on Govinda's and Salman's shoulders. These two gel so beautifully that they bring to mind pairs like Akshay-Salman, Akshay-Saif and even Salman-Aamir.

I have just one poser for not just David Dhawan, but the entire Bollywood fraternity - you have perfectly fine movies. Why do you, without fail, have to massacre them?
By Ibnlive, July 25, 2007 - 12:18 IST
As far as Partner is concerned, if you're willing to ignore some of those slapstick jokes and the fact that the actors are constantly yelling at the top of their voices, then you might actually enjoy some parts of this film. I can safely tell you this would have been a far more entertaining film had the screenplay been tighter.

Director David Dhawan is back with his muse Govinda, and the result is amazing. This has to be the funniest Bollywood movie of the year, so far. The over-the-top-witty dialogues are the highlight of the film.

When there were no songs for the first 20 odd minutes, I thought I had dozed off at some point and missed a whole load of fun. Though I must say that they were making up for it with the extra background score and loudly delivered lines. And when calamities come they come in battalions...

1 of 1 people found this review helpful David Dhawan or say Salman Khan, as he is unofficial producer of the film (officially it is produced by his brother Sohail), has assembled a good cast. It is a visual treat to see two sensuous and gorgeous looking ladies in one frame...

Govinda is his high-decibel self, wooing his boss Katrina Kaif. Try hard, but there are no visible signs of acting from Kaif's side. Govinda makes up for the pairing mismatch with his steps and style.

0 of 1 people found this review helpful I had some hopes with the movie what with Govinda and Salman Khan together in the remake of Hitch. Now Hitch wasn't a bad movie and only if David Dhawan had not decided to introduce his own storyline, even Partner would have been fine. However, he did use his brain and what turned out to be was an utter disaster.
