1 of 1 people found this review helpful I don't know whether to blame Harman or Harry more for this debacle. Harry's clearly trying to give his son the most spectacular launch possible, and is clearly out of his depth in the sci-fi world, but then Junior must have piped up with ideas of things that would look cool. Either way, it's going to take the family a while to live this down.

Any plus points, you ask? One. The special effects. Yes, they're good -- world-class, in fact, which makes it all the more regrettable, that so much money was wasted on this flick...

Frankly, this lengthy sci-fi-fo-fum misadventure is sheer torture. In the near-empty auditorium, you even wanted to grab 2050 winks on the carpet whenever the not-so-special effects displayed a still-untampered with Gateway of India overlooking New York-style skyscrapers...

1 of 1 people found this review helpful Love Story 2050 is a love-story after all, and an insipid, passionless one at that. The leads share no chemistry whatsoever, and their innumerable love songs only slacken the pace of this film, which hobbles along punishing, clocking in at three monstrously long hours...

Love Story 2050 is yet another major disappointment of 2008. A utter waste of Rs 50 crores plus spent on this never ending tale. The opening at the box-office is expected to be good, but the negative word-of-mouth would affect Harman's debut. The collections should start dropping heavily from Monday. This futuristic tale has absolutely no future...

1 of 1 people found this review helpful If the film is to be believed, apart from outward changes, there will be zero evolving and progress otherwise. There’s a scene that symbolises this thought—that of a robotic snake dancing to the tunes of a snake charmer...

Harry Baweja no doubt takes you into the future and places brands like 'Lux' and 'Tata Indicom' right in your face. But somehow Harry fails at the romance bit. As for the rest, its ok to watch superstar (yes, he sure is headed for that title) Harman groove...

The second half dwells more on the wonders of technology in 2050. You have pop stars performing on a stage floating in stratosphere, or the sari-clad, digital maidservant who pops out of nowhere at the mere mention of her name...

Harman is confident, spontaneous and has a strong body language. His action, dancing and dialogue delivery are top class. A star in the making. The camera work by Kiran Deohans and Vijay Arora is breathtaking...

The movie is nothing but 'bhel puri' of 90s story with this generation SFX. The concept of re-incarnation and time machine itself contradicts with each other. You are confused, is this science fiction or re-incarnation based 80s drama...

Love Story 2050 tries to pack in all the elements of a commercial potboiler with a twist of science fiction. There's also a bit of rebirth thrown in, which actually contradicts the entire notion of science. But more than an hour and a half into the movie, there is not even a mention about the much-hyped time travel bit...

The screenplay grilled by multiple writers is a clear case of too many cooks spoil the broth. The first half is long-drawn-out with a lousy love story while scenes are specially written in the second half only to accommodate brand endorsements. The special effects are a new high for hindi films...

1 of 1 people found this review helpful Love Story 2050 could have been a landmark film in Hindi cinema, making the audience take serious notice of the science fiction genre, but unfortunately the film leaves you wishing that Harry Baweja had made a modern day romantic comedy with a decent script rather than focusing so much on packaging of an empty film.
