Talking about the exhibition, Big B said, "70 artists have painted their impressions of me on canvas for my 70th. Their works are on exhibition at the Nehru Art Centre and those that have seen it have exulted in appreciation. There are very rare film posters too before the time of computerised banners. They were all hand painted and so carry a rare presence. These too are on display and sale at the same venue."
Abhishek Bachchan said that it was a beautiful thing that they have done. He added that while they feel honoured for the same, it felt great that they are all inspired by his father. On the other hand, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan said that while 70 pieces of art are beautiful, it was difficult to pick one as a favorite.
"As I walk past these works of art and legacy, I am stunned by the amount of attention that has gone by in my representations, by others. It does not seem to attract my attention, but it does for the others, and so I leave it at that … what really remains are the efforts made by the artists and its incorporation in the aesthetic book titled 'B70'.. Posterity shall hopefully look upon this with some nostalgia and acknowledgement. As would I guess some of you that give interest in this direction …" Big B adds.
By now, everyone knows that Amitabh Bachchan's 70th birthday was nothing short of a grand gala event! Besides the other 'gifts', what Amitabh was treated to was an array of a whopping 70 artists painting their impressions about Big B as arranged by his better half Jaya Bachchan. The painting have been displayed at the Nehru Art Centre, Mumbai.
