Throwback: ‘Superstar’ Salman Khan and ‘princess’ Preity Zinta on Jaan-E-Mann sets : Bollywood News

Preity Zinta was in mid-2000 what Deepika Padukone is today. She debuted in Bollywood in 2 memorable performances in Dil Se and Soldier. She then appeared in more hit films like Mission Kashmir, Chori Chori Chupke Chupke, Dil Chahta Hai, Koi Mil Gaya, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Veer-Zaara, Salaam Namaste etc. She was in the top league and could have easily ruled for many more years. But then she focused all her energies on her Indian Premiere League (IPL) team Kings XI Punjab. Naturally, films had to take a backseat.

Today, we came across a picture that was clicked at a time when Preity Zinta was a superstar. The image in question is from the sets of the 2006 film Jaan-E-Mann. Preity Zinta looks cute in her black t-shirt that reads ‘Princess Rock’. She has teamed it up with denim skirt. On the left is Salman Khan who is rightly wearing a crown that reads ‘Superstar’. The sleeveless red shirt worn by the actor looks great and it flaunts his muscles too. Finally, Sajid Nadiadwala is posing on Preity’s left. He’s also wearing a crown but the ‘Superstar’ mention is missing. The roses printed on his shirt are quite appealing.

Jaan-E-Mann released in 2006 and was the directorial debut of Shirish Kunder. It also starred Akshay Kumar and it released during Diwali, clashing with Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Don. The film was loved for its novel storytelling but at the box office, it flopped. But later on, the film got acceptance on television.

Preity Zinta didn’t completely stop working in films. She turned producer with Ishkq In Paris in 2013 but it flopped. She also did a special appearance in Saif Ali Khan-starrer Happy Ending in 2014 but again, it didn’t work too.
