Shah Rukh Khan returns to hockey after Chak De India and it is not for a film

Well, he may have played a disciplined hockey coach in Chak De India to the tee but since then we haven’t heard much of the names of Shah Rukh Khan and hockey together. But now, reports have it that the superstar is keen to return to the sport but it is not for a film, in fact, it is more of an initiative. The actor has extended his support to Beats for Hockey campaign for Odisha team in Hockey Men’s World Cup 2018.

In fact, Shah Rukh Khan has also confirmed that he will be gracing the opening ceremony of the same which will be held at the Kalinga stadium in Bhubaneshwar. These details were shared through a twitter banter that happened between Shah Rukh Khan and captain of the team, Manpreet Singh on the social media platform. Here’s a glimpse of their banter.

Here not only did Shah Rukh Khan confirm his presence as he also called out Chak De India, his YRF blockbuster based on women’s hockey but he also expressed his happiness over being invited for the same. The Chief Minister of Odisha too expressed his excitement of having a superstar like Shah Rukh Khan on board to promote the sport. He too took to twitter to share his thoughts on the same. Let us tell you that Shah Rukh Khan, who has always expressed his keenness towards cricket by far with his team Kolkata Knight Riders, is also quite attached to hockey. In fact, reports claim that the actor used to play the sports during his school days and has also expressed his desire of making AbRam a hockey player. Aww isn’t that sweet?
