Yami Gautam, who started her career with television, has an interesting lineup of films this year starting with Batti Gul Meter Chalu. And now we hear, her family member and bestie, her sister Surilie Gautam aka Surilie Jasraj Singh is all set to debut in Bollywood. And it is for the Randeep Hooda starrer film, to be directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, based on the Battle of Saragarhi.

Well, the Rajkumar Santoshi film based on the Battle of Saragarhi, has been in news for quite some time now. The film has been subjected to many speculations including that there are plans of shelving it. But the latest announcement about Surilie Singh’s debut has now reaffirmed that the film is indeed on track.

Yami Gautam took to Instagram to share this good news wherein she posted a picture along with director Rajkumar Santoshi and her sister Surilie. She also expressed her happiness over her sister’s debut saying, “Super excited for my little boo @surilie_j_singh on her debut “Battle of Saragarhi” with the one and only #rajkumarsantoshi !!”

On the other hand, Surilie Singh reposted the image saying, “Super elated and excited to start my first movie with an ace director like Rajkumar Santoshi sir can’t wait to begin this special journey #battleofsaragarhi #debut #rajkumarsantoshi #randeephooda #blessed #grattitude.”

For the uninitiated, Yami Gautam’s sister Surilie Jasraj Singh made her acting debut on the big screen with the Punjabi film Power Cut (2012). The film was produced by comedian-actor Jaspal Bhatti who is also Surilie’s father-in-law. It is a known fact that Surilie is married to late Jaspal Bhatti’s son Jasraj Singh Bhatti. Just a day before the release of Power Cut, Jaspal Bhatti died in an accident.

Speaking on the incident, Surilie revealed in reports that followed by the accident, she too was deeply injured and bedridden for a while. And now that all is well, she is happy to take up the Rajkumar Santoshi directorial. The actress will be essaying the role of Jiwani, wife of Havildar Singh, which will be played by Randeep Hooda.

On the other hand, Surilie Singh maintained that she didn’t mind waiting for the film even if it meant a year. She was busy prepping up for her role and researching on the character of Jiwani during this year.
