Ranveer Singh finally REACTS to the threats and protests against Padmaavat and Sanjay Leela Bhansali

Ranveer Singh, who has been receiving a positive response for essaying the role of Sultan Alauddin Khilji, has finally publicly spoken against the fringe group and is standing by his director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and his vision. The actor, who has previously worked with the filmmaker in Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani, recently did a candid interview where he talked about Sanjay Leela Bhansali being assaulted and how he felt during those times.

When asked about filming the character and how he stayed positive in these tensed situations, he said that he was not at all positive. He said that he is very sensitive and he felt a lot of anger when Bhansali was slapped during the shooting in Jaipur. It is known that the members of Karni Sena had vandalized the entire set and even assaulted Bhansali.

Talking about the incident, Ranveer Singh said that the people around him had to calm him down as he was ready to go on a rampage. Calling the fringe group out, he asked how dare they do this and that too in his place of worship. He said that how could they assault the person he worships.

Then, Ranveer Singh further said that instead of going on a full rampage and being destructive, he channelled that angst in his performance. He became constructive about the incident and used all that anger to make his performance better.

Padmaavat, which released on January 25, is Ranveer Singh's third collaboration with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. As of now, the actor is currently shooting for Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy with Alia Bhatt. The film is slated to release later this year.
