Remember the Salman Khan starrer Wanted and Akshay Kumar starrer Rowdy Rathore? Both film had backdrops of a cop story and both were directed by Prabhu Dheva. And now, the filmmaker is all set to turn into a police officer himself and here’s the proof! The actor-director will play the role of a leading man in Pon Manickavel and here’s a glimpse of the same.

The first look of this forthcoming film Pon Manickavel features Prabhu Dheva as a powerful cop, a role which we have rarely witnessed the actor in. Looks like we will see the actor in quite an action packed avatar in this AC Mugil directorial. However, these details of the film are yet to be revealed. Let us tell you that Prabhu Dheva himself shared the first look poster on his Twitter page.

Another interesting aspect of Pon Manickavel is that the film will feature Nivetha Pethuraj as the leading lady in the role of Anbarasi. If reports are to be believed, the first schedule of the film is already completed. In fact, the team of Pon Manickavel is currently wrapping up the second schedule which is still in progress. Some reports also claim that the film will feature a peppy dance number that will add that musical tinge to the film.

Produced by Nemichand Jhabak, music is composed by D Immam. Reportedly, Prabhakar who is best known for his role as the leader of the Kalakeya tribe from Bahubali, is expected to play one of the antagonists in the film. Besides that, the film also stars Suresh Chandra Menon and grandson of veteran actor Nagesh, Bijesh in prominent roles in the film.

With cinematography by KG Venkatesh, the release date of the film is yet to be announced.
