Huma Qureshi has had her share of criticism owing to her weight. However, the actress hasn’t been deterred by these comments and has continued to work and excel in the film industry. Also, she has been a fitness enthusiast who ensures that she remains fit.
However, of late, Huma Qureshi has been taking her gym lessons rather seriously and religiously. She plays the love interest of Rajinikanth in Kaala. The shoot of the film began in Mumbai in May but the actress has joined the team just right now when they moved to Chennai. The shoot is being done mostly in the night in the 12-15 hour shifts. Yet, Huma Qureshi has ensured that she managed to find time to exercise. As per reports, she is maintaining a strict diet and high-intensity weight-training regime. And since she’s shooting during nights, she goes to the gym as soon as she wakes up, around noon. Huma Qureshi admitted that fitness is just about making time for oneself no matter what and that she has made a point not to resort to excuses. She added that she loves the rush of happy hormones when she works out.
Huma Qureshi yesterday posted a video on her Instagram handle that shows her gymming passionately. The witty caption was, “This is how we ‘swing it swing it’ in #Chennai wearing #Kaala gym clothes ????#prettygirlslift #nightshoots #workout #power #workout #beastmode”. She also tagged celebrity fitness expert Yasmin Karachiwala whose assistants are helping her in her gym endeavour.
Huma Qureshi was last seen in Gurinder Chadha’s international film Viceroy’s House that released in India as Partition 1947. Prior to that, she was seen in Dobaara and Jolly LLB 2 this year.
Huma Qureshi, who plays Rajinikanth’s love interest in Pa Ranjith’s Kaala Karikaalan, joined the team on the ongoing Chennai schedule recently with her trainer, who is one of celebrity fitness expert Yasmin Karachiwala’s assistants, in tow. The actress has been shooting in 12-15 hour shifts in the Tamil gangster-thriller predominantly night schedule.
The 31-year-old actress has been maintaining a strict diet and high-intensity weight-training regime for the last couple of months for her upcoming screen turn.
The Dhanush production, also featuring Anjali Patil and Pankaj Tripathi, kicked off in Mumbai in May even as the unit continued to film through heavy rains. The film features the city’s slums as a backdrop. A set resembling Mumbai has been erected in Chennai for the remaining portions.
“Since we’ve been shooting rigorously during nights, I hit the gym as soon as I wake up, which is around noon. I have come to believe that fitness is just about making time for yourself every day no matter what and I have made it my goal to not resort to excuses,” Huma told Mirror before heading to the sets.
“I love the rush of happy hormones. Makes me ready to take on the day,” she says on the effect of fitness regime.
