The year 2018 will see many fresh pairs on the big screen. One of the pairs coming together will be Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy. The film went on the floor on Saturday afternoon in Mumbai.

On Monday afternoon, Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt along with Zoya Akhtar were shooting in Dharavi, Mumbai. Alia was seen in a printed dress with a hijaab in the leaked images from the set. Ranveer was donning a simple look with a tee, shirt and denim. He was carrying a backpack. From the leaked images, one can see Zoya explaining scenes to the two leading actors. During breaks, Alia was seen sipping juice and energizing herself for the shoot day.

Directed by Zoya Akhtar, Gully Boy will bring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt on the big screen for the very first time. Although they have worked in a couple of ads for an e-com travel portal, this will be their first film together. This would be the second collaboration between Zoya and Ranveer after Dil Dhadakne Do.

Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh is awaiting the release on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat. The film also stars Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor and is slated to release on January 25, 2018. Alia Bhatt, on the other hand, has Meghna Gulzar’s Raazi in the pipeline which is set for May 11, 2018 release. Besides this, she is also prepping for Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra.
