Filmmaker Abhishek Varman, who helmed 2 States in the year 2014, is back for one of the most anticipated films with an ensemble cast. The filmmaker is directing Dharma Productions next titled Kalank in collaboration with Fox Star Studios and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. The film went on floors earlier in April 2018 with Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha, and Aditya Roy Kapur. The film also marks the return of Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit after many years on the big screen. As the actors continue to hustle, the rain gods had a different plan for them.
Kalank shooting, on June 2, came to a halt due to unexpected heavy rains. Varun Dhawan shared a couple of videos from the sets of the film as the crew was trying to save the set and the equipments. Varun and Aditya Roy Kapur were urging Karan Johar to save them in a hilarious video as they took shelter in under an umbrella. He said that director Abhishek Varman was making sure everyone and everything was safe. Kunal Khemu was also on the sets of the film as the trio gave updates on their film and what they planned to do as the shooting was stopped.
Kalank, which was incepted 15 years ago by Karan Johar and his dad Yash Johar, will now release on April 19, 2019.
