On International Day for the Girl Child, Priyanka Chopra who promotes the development of the girl child encouraged everyone to inculcate a sense of confidence in girl child. The actress also wholeheartedly expressed her gratitude towards her mother who has been an icon for her since childhood. She thanked her mother for bringing her up without any prejudices.
Appreciating the varied roles her mother played in her entire life from a professional doctor to a daughter, wife, mother to a business partner, Priyanka Chopra maintained that her mother has been her hero all this while. She also spoke about her mother’s story revealing about how she ran away from her home to fulfill her dream and became a doctor in the armed forces and served them for years. The actress also talked about her mother’s qualifications which includes eight medical certifications along with being a certified pilot and also about her linguistic skills since she can speak in nine languages.
But the one most important thing that Priyanka Chopra is extremely thankful to her mother is for bringing her up with the idea that she can be anything and everything she wants to be.
Time and again, Priyanka Chopra has spoken up about varied issues including the remuneration disparity that has been a part of the Bollywood industry. Now with the actress becoming a global icon, she is also gearing up for about three Hollywood ventures along with kick starting the third season of ‘Quantico’. As for her Bollywood projects, while there are several speculations about her next including a biopic on PT Usha, Priyanka Chopra is yet to make an official announcement on the same.
