One of the biggest award functions of the industry, IIFA 2018, will take over the weekend and Bollywood’s bevy of stars has already reached Bangkok kick-started the award show with a press conference. Karan Johar, Varun Dhawan, Kartik Aaryan, Arjun Kapoor, Ayushmann Khurrana, Riteish Deshmukh, Nushrat Bharucha, Kriti Sanon, Dia Mirza, Shraddha Kapoor, among others were present at the do. All of them put their best foot forward at the press con and gave us a sneak peek of the awards function which is going to be one grand affair. Shahid Kapoor and Vaani Kapoor who were supposed to perform at the function dropped out of the event at the last moment because of health reasons.
After the press con, there is going to be an IIFA Rocks event which will be a musical bonanza filled with some scintillating performances too. Bollywood music director-singer Pritam along with Sreerama Chandra, Amit Mishra, Shalmali Kholgade, Antara Mitra, Nakash Aziz and Nikitha will give musical performance. Nushrat Bharucha will give a stage performance. Kartik Aaryan and Ayushmann Khurrana are set to host IIFA Rocks 2018. The main awards night will be on Sunday and it is touted that Priyanka Chopra will grace the night. Ranbir Kapoor has turned host for the night and will also give a dance performance after a long time at IIFA.
The highlight of evening will be power-packed performances by Ranbir Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Kriti Sanon, Lulia Vantur among others. The star-studded awards presentation ceremony will witness a mesmerizing performance by India’s most loved actress and timeless beauty Rekha after about 20 years.

Sharing his thoughts, Ranbir Kapoor commented, “IIFA Bangkok holds a very special place in my heart, I won the best debutante award at IIFA 2008 in Bangkok. The 19th Edition of IIFA Weekend and Awards is going to be a great one and I am eager to connect with my fans and look forward to giving a power-packed performance.”
Karan Johar added, “I was privileged to be at the Millennium Dome in London when the IIFAs were born and I’ve participated in the journey across the world. My father and I have been part of the IIFA Advisory Board and share the passion to take Indian cinema across the world. The impact of the IIFAs can be felt in the growth of distribution and film incentives in key markets around the globe. I wish the IIFAs well and more power to the organizing team of Wizcraft.”
Varun Dhawan said, “IIFA has always held a special place in my heart but that bond became even stronger after Wizcraft and IIFA offered me a chance to pay tribute to my father’s legacy through a special performance last year. I am very excited to put on an amazing show for everyone in Bangkok.”
