There's a perception that you're taking a dig on Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in Welcome to New York trailer
I get trolled for anything Faridoon. But when I look back at Kuch Kuch Hota Hai I think there are some cringe-worthy scenes. Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham is probably too long. My Name Is Khan had one chapter at Wilhelmina that I wish I had corrected and made better. The only film that I am completely satisfied with is Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. That is one film that I wouldn't change anything of because that what I narrated.

Even Kuch Kuch Hota Hai when it released and the phase where you and your family received underworld threats..
My mother got a call that ‘aap picture release mat karo’ and it was a threatening call. It was really scary for us.

My Name Is Khan just covered 8 years
It was quite traumatic at that time so it took me back to the release weekend and all the troubles we went through.

You can really overcome a lot of your fears if you really make an effort to do that
Aaj Kal people ironically make an effort to talk about nepotism but nobody knows that ki mujhe bola gaya tha ki please don't ye mat karo. I was encouraged actually to do whatever I liked. I managed to kind of leverage that to overcome my issues by making sure that I did stuff on stage.

It was said that you only work with Shah Rukh Khan
I was told ki aap ke saath banaate ho, NRI films banaate ho, Shah Rukh Khan ke saath banaate ho, sirf stars ke saath banaate ho, sirf ameer logon ke baare mein banaate ho. I have always been put in these boxes. I worked with three newcomers in Student Of The Year and broke the myth that I work only with movie stars.

When will Salman Khan be back in Dharma Productions?
I will always be eternally grateful to Salman Khan for having done Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and for adding so much star power to that role. I'm very excited to work with him.

Any actor that comes to your mind that you would like to work with and still haven't worked with?
I'd love to work with Sridevi. I'd love to direct Aamir Khan.

So many people are saying that if you can do a film with Ranveer and Deepika
I think that domain should be exclusively kept for Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

We are getting these press releases about Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli with regards to Koffee with Karan
Of course it would be my honor and privilege to have Virat and Anushka. But I don't think they have been offered and asked by anyone. I wouldn't do that.

What is the biggest change in your life since having little ones Yash and Roohi?
My entire life has changed. There's sunshine in the house. There's happiness all around me. And there are two smiling crazily gorgeous faces staring at me every morning and when I come back home.

There are these conjectures that Roohi, Yash, Adira, Taimur about their casting. Do you find it...
They are one year olds. How can you put the pressure? I find it ridiculous when they talk about these things. The assumption that all these kids will be in movie business is ridiculous. That's too much pressure. I want them to do what they want to.

You're a hugely inspiring person even in terms of what you stand for, what you believe in.
